The BMW R 90 S was to all intents and purposes a revolutionary motorbike for the House of the Helix, as it combined the concept of touring motorbike and sports motorbike in a single machine. Compared by many to the renowned R 50 S and R 69 S, the R90 S combined the pleasure of a true grand tourer with the sportiness of a thoroughbred superbike. Designed by Hans Muth (who would later design the legendary Suzuki Katana) and distinguished by two unique colours, the R90 S made its mark: exclusive, fast and above all reliable, it was one of the protagonists of the maxi era of the 1970s.
Imported to Italy in 2008 from Holland, this splendid R90 S from the first series has been fully restored in the original Imola Silver colour scheme. Used regularly over the past few years, it is one of BMW's strongest revaluation bikes at the moment
