One of only 828 ever built. Restored with original Ferrari parts to bring it back to its original look. 30,000 original km. Funny and fast to drive.
Introduced in 1986 as part of the range renewal programme, the GTS Turbo was Ferrari's response to Italian laws that penalised engines with a displacement of more than 3 litres. Essentially a 208 equipped with an IHI turbine and having performances similar to the 328 of superior displacement, and with almost identical bodywork, the GTS Turbo was distinguishable from the other models because of the naked air intakes in front of the rear wheels that had the task of conveying air to cool the brakes. The top speed of 250 km/h and the 10 mm shorter wheelbase compared to the 328 made it an agile and fun to drive car. Produced until 1989, this model allowed Ferrari to consolidate its commercial success of the successful series of transversal rear-engined berlinettas, inaugurated in 1975 with the 308 GTB with fibreglass bodywork.
This 1986 GTS Turbo was delivered new in the province of Aosta to its first owner. Subsequently, the car was purchased by a mechanic with the intention of bringing it back to its original conditions, as if it had just left the factory. The rare tweed fabric upholstery of the interior lining of the roof and the rear part of the cockpit, as well as all the pipes and paint are original Ferrari. The current owner took possession of this Ferrari two years ago. He finished the restoration work begun about 20 years ago, taking care of every detail, from the galvanising of the nuts and bolts to the cleaning of the leather of the interior. Presented in the same condition as the new version and fresh restoration aimed at restoring its absolute originality, this GTS Turbo represents a fantastic opportunity for all those who are looking for an original Ferrari of the 80's.
