Profusely illustrated work, dedicated to Frederick of Prussia with interesting Russian provenance.4to, (250 x 192mm). 135 plates of which many folding, engraved frontispiece to the first volume, engraved vignettes in text, to the seventh volume engraved title page preceding the typographical one (light browning, plates no. 21 and 22 exchanged in the first volume). Contemporary full leather binding with title, volume number and gilt title on spine, marbled endpapers, yellowed edges (some wear). Provenance: Ex-libris of Vasily Ivanovich Klochkov (1861-1915), Russian bookseller and bibliophile; ex-libris of private Russian library to the title page of the second volume; contemporary ownership signature Haldimand (?) to the title page of the second volume.
