A HIGHLY IMPORTANT AND FINELY CARVED LARGE SPINACH-GREEN JADE 'SCHOLAR' BRUSHPOT, BITONG, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG 1736-1795
In very good conditions, the stone is very well polished and preserved. There are some natural flaw lines. There are very few small scratches and wear on the surface. There are a few very minute nicks and chips to the extremities of the carving, as expected of the period and typical of this type, together with an Italian later wood gilded base, in good condition with some wear and scratches on the surface and some minor flakes on the extremities.
