piano mistilineo con bordo modanato, fasce e gambe mosse, intarsiata a motivi floreali in legno chiaro ed entro riserve filettate in avorio, la fascia frontale centrata da aquila araldica ad ali spiegate in avorio; usure, rotture, restauri, mancanze, sostituzioni, modifiche, tracce di tarlo

Il singolare schema decorativo che caratterizza questo grande tavolo a console è reso ancor più evidente dall'accesa cromia, ottenuta grazie all?uso alternato di essenze lignee fortemente contrastate. Tale espediente, è utilizzato ad esempio, anche in alcune raffinate tarsie per le boiserie del cosiddetto 'Boudoir della Principessa' del catanese Palazzo Biscari: si noterà come, qui e nel palazzo catanese, le riserve geometriche, di un gusto ancora vagamente Luigi XIV, sono ornate da un articolato ramage floreale. Questi lavori, così come evidenziato da Enrico Colle in 'Il mobile rococò in Italia' (Milano 2003, pagg. 44 e 45, tav. 2), si dovranno datare non prima del 1771-72: a partire da quegli anni infatti, risultano alcuni pagamenti del principe di Biscari, per i lavori di arredamento della residenza ordinati ad artigiani siciliani (?) per il rinnovamento del suo palazzo, in occasione delle nozze del figlio Vincenzo.
