A VERY FINE AND MAGNIFICENTLY CARVED CIRCULAR JADE SCREEN, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

Exquisitely carved in high relief to depict a dense continuous scene, of mountains landscape formed by jagged rocks, wutong and pine tree, pavilions and wispy clouds, the first detailed with two scholars walking and passing a little waterfall, after left a temple beneath an overhanging wutong trees, with one sage point out to the other the five bats* just flying over them, the reverse with a wide scene of rocks issuing knotted and twisting prunus tree with wide branches in blossoms*, close to a chrysanthemum plant with flowers and a pheasant perching on the rocks; an horizontal flaw crossing the sides and possibly re-stuck, and very minor frits.
