A RARE AND LARGE PAIR OF OCTAGONAL CLOISONNE' ENAMEL AND GILT-BRONZE CANDLESTICKS, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) (2)
Of octagonal sections, each finely cast and brilliantly enamelled with the hollow bell-shaped base rising to a central bulb supporting a large octagonal dish tray, set to the centre with a tall tapering octagonal neck, surmounted by a small tray fitted with a metal pricket, decorated in brilliant enamels against a bright turquoise ground, all amid stylized lotus blossoms borne on dense scrolling leafy stems, the rims with gilt key fret bands. In very good conditions, very minor wears on the surface, one slightly leaning.
