A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN SQUARED JARDINIERES, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY (2)
Raised on four short feet, the jardinieres with slightly flaring sides and a wider flared rim, painted on each side with the eight Buddhist animals, below a ruyi-head border and above a stylized key fret band with at the centre a reserve, the base pierced with a wide drainage hole. In good conditions, minor wears on the surface and minor firing imperfections, a flake of 1 cm ca. on the mouth rim of one jardiniere.
