A BLACK LACQUER FOUR-CASE INRO SIGNED KAJIKAWA HIDETAKA, JAPAN, EDO PERIOD (1603-1868), 19TH CENTURY
Of rounded rectangular profile with applied cord-runners, decorated in gold and colored red, black, yellow, grey and orange, hiramaki-e and takamaki-e against gold hirame on a black lacquer ground, depicting a coquerel and two chicks and on the back a barn surrounded by trees, the interior gold nashiji, signed Kajikawa Hidetaka under the bottom. In very good conditions, very minor wears on the surface, ojime missing.
