A RARE PAIR OF TRUMPET PORCELAIN VASES IN FAMILLE NOIR AND ROSE DECORATION, CHINA, EARLY QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) (2)
The trumpet vases painted with a black ground and enriched over the whole body with intertwining foliage of stems and leaves of chrysanthemum flowered and enamelled in blue, light blue, pink and white. The reserves of various forms of fans are depicted with scenes of cockerels on a rocky and shrubs ground surrounded by peonies flowered, leaves interspersed with smaller fans and reserved with additional flowers and flowering branch on which is perched a bird. Restorations on the top section of the vases, minor surface wears and minor firing imperfections.
