Vignale body shop was one of the most important Italian Ateliers after the Second World War. Founded by brothers Alfredo and Giuseppe Vignale and Angelo Balma, it immediately established itself for its custom-built cars and important orders on small and exclusive series for Ferrari, Maserati and many other prestigious brands. In the mid-60s, when the fashion for retro-style cars began to spread thanks to the presentation of the Alfa Romeo Quattroruote in 1965, in 1967 Vignale produced a spider inspired by the lines of the Fiat 508 Balilla Coppa d'Oro, called Gamine. Small and minimalist but of fine workmanship, it immediately proved a success, especially in northern Europe. After the unexpected cancellation of some important orders, Vignale closed its doors at the end of the 70s, after only 300 Gamine produced.
This splendid and graceful 1970's Gamine has been restored in recent years and is complete with its Turin plate. Purchased in 2017 by its current owner, it has been used in recent years for meetings and trips along the Ligurian coast. Accompanied by its original hood and the registration documents of the time, it represents today an example of elegant, fun and charismatic car
