DUE VASI IN PORCELLANA BIANCA E BLU, CINA, EPOCA TRANSIZIONE, CIRCA 1630-1650
TWO FINE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BOTTLE VASE, CHINA, TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1630-1650 (2)
rising from a short foot each of globular body surmounted with a tall bulbous neck, painted in cobalt blue tones depicting a continuous scene; one with a landscape with grass, rocks, trees and plants and a dignitary and his attendant in front of a kneeling farmer keeping in its hands a rope tied to its buffalo, below a narrow band of scrolling foliage and flowers, the neck with leafy long-stemmed tulip flowers and lotus scroll. The other vase with an unusual scene, decorated with a fenced garden with a weeping willows tree overhanging the three men, one holding a fan, the other a drum, the third one with two sticks in its hands close to a young lady, separated by railings and a wall, behind of it a lady holding a fan, below a narrow band of scrolling foliage and flowers, the neck with leafy long-stemmed tulip flowers and lotus scroll; the first vase in very good condition with only light scratches, the second one in very good condition with only two very minor glaze-flake on the mouth rim visible on the catalogue illustration.

Two similar vase were sold in Christie's Amsterdam, 26-27 March 2013, lot 242 for 43.500 and another one was sold in Christie's London on 14 May 2013, lot 202.
