FALDA, Giovanni Battista (1648-1678). Nuova Pianta et alzata della città di Roma con tutte le strade piazze et edificii de tempii palazzi giardini et altre fabbriche antiche e moderne. Rome: Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi, 1705.
Monumental and scarce first reprint of the important wall map of the city first published in 1676. It is one of the most iconic maps of Rome due to its high level of detail and size and will serve as a model for later maps by Nolli and Vasi. Frutaz CLVIII.Folio, (510 x 375mm). Wallpaper in 12 sheets, each measuring c. 505 x 390mm and mounted on 20th century leaves except one on watermarked paper and from another copy (some restoration and small integrations, a few stains). 20th century binding in half cloth with gilt title to boards.
