Beautiful copy in fine 18th-century binding and from the Larousse library of the first edition of the Decameron in Italian to be printed in France. The text is based on the 1527 edition edited by Francesco Giuntini with additional notes by Pietro Bembo.

Printer's device to title-page, historiated woodcut initials, portrait of Boccaccio to verso of A8, 10 engraved vignettes in the text from drawings by Pierre Eskreich, blue silk place-marker (Cards R6-R7 joined at the top, small stain between I5 and I6 and Mm2-Mm3). 18th-century full leather binding, spine gilt, and similarly gilt edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers.
