The jar is heavily potted, it is raised on a flat foot ring, with a tapering globular body, short neck and thick lipped rim. The sumptuous body is painted in under glaze blue in the early Ming style with simulated 'heaping and piling' effect decorated with a motif of chilongs and flight phoenix interlocking between lotus and seasonal flowers borne on scrolling foliage, below a collar of lingzhi around the neck, the unglazed base shows the white porcellain ware. In very good condition, very minor firing imperfections and minor scratches.
