A RARE 'DOUCAI' STEM CUP, CHINA, CHENGHUA MARK, POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD OF KANGXI (1665-1722)

With a deep U-shaped form the cup, supported on a tall splayed foot bordered, with a raised fillet, the exterior decorated in under-glaze blue, red, yellow and green enamels with four medallions of roses wreathed by foliage, two blooms in red and the other two in yellow, all between stylized floral and pearls motifs at the rim and an undulating border supporting ruyi-heads below, the underside of the stem inscribed in under-glaze blue with a six characters mark written in a semi-circle. in quite good condition, the cup in the high section broken and re-stuck, as visible from the catalogue illustration, the stem cup would need a professional restoration.
