A RARE AND LARGE POLYCHROME MOULDED INSCRIBED VASE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
Of square section, the faceted vase is stoutly potted with tall tapering sides and a everted rim, the exterior of the body moulded in a celadon ground, composed by three cartouches on each sides, painted in copper; red and under glaze-blue, and is decorated on two sides with flowering branches and bamboo, and the other two sides with lengthy inscriptions panels alternate in regular script, Kaishu, and archaic Chinese characters, the tall foot with a key-fret motif. In very good conditions, with very minor firing imperfections, the molded celadon section with crackle and very minor wear and scratches.
