A RARE BLUE SILK AND FUR GOLD EMBROIDERED 'DRAGON' WINTER ROBE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY ; JIFU
With side front closing with metal buttons, finely embroidered in couched gold-wrapped thread with nine five-clawed dragons leaping amidst clouds interspersed with Buddhist symbols, and other Shou symbols pursuing the flaming pearl, framed above and in the arms by a deep hem of cresting waves and with auspicious objects, and the Lishui stripe; the black silk ribbon similarly gold embroidered repeated on the horse hoof cuffs of the black silk sleeves. In very good conditions, only few minor loss color spots in the blue silk.
