The Ferrari 2+2 has always been a combination of performance, elegance and practicality. Preferred by Enzo for everyday use, they have always represented the elegant soul of the Cavallino and have always had a prominent place in the Ferrari production. Introduced in 1992, the 456 GT represented the new direction of this family of Italian gran turismo. Heir to the 412, the new 456 proposed an innovative style for a car in its segment: the bodywork designed by Pininfarina was a combination of soft and harmonious lines that sometimes recalled the 365 GTB/4 Daytona of the late 60s.Presented for the first time in Brussels on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Ecurie Francorchams, the 456 was built on a classic tubular steel frame, while the bodywork consisted of aluminiumpanels. Noteworthy is the fact that the parts welded to the chassis were treated with Feran, a material that allowed welding between different metals. The large front bonnet was made of composite material, which made the 456 one of the first cars in the world to adopt this construction method. The engine, the classic 65° V12 casted light alloy, was completely new: known as the Tipo 116, it offered 442 hp at 6200 rpm combining power with daily usability.
This beautiful 1996 Blue Le Mans model is offered here in spectacular conditions. Newly purchased by a private individual in northern Italy, it has been owned by its current owner since 1998. Regularly maintained and fresh from a major maintenance intervention where the timing belts have been replaced and with fewer than 34,000 km to go, it is interesting opportunity to buy a modern and perfectly usable Ferrari every day.
