On May 13th, our Wannenes representative in Genoa, Paola Bertolini – in collaboration with Daniele Ricci, the Director of Jaguar’s Genoa headquarters – organised at the “Pitosforo” restaurant on the Portofino marina an evening event during which Guido Wannenes, Stefano Betti (a collector of Jaguar cars and an expert of the art market as a form of investment) and Daniele Ricci himself spoke both of beauty as well as collecting. The restaurant has been famous since the 1960’s and many Hollywood stars have graced the restaurant’s rooms over the years, from Cary Grant, Robert Redford and Richard Burton to icons of beauty such as Claudia Cardinale and Sophia Loren. The event demonstrated to all those present the sheer quality and beauty of a car brand of undisputed excellence. Jaguar cars were founded in 1922 by William Lyons (a young engineer from Blackpool) and by the expert pilot, William Walmsley. Jaguar cars personalised with the Wannenes logo were exhibited throughout the evening in order to seal this moment of partnership between Jaguar and our auction house.
