On 16 November 2016, in honour of Giampaolo Dallara's 80th birthday, the Dallara Stradale was presented, a barchetta-type car without doors like the single-seater racing cars. It was designed by only 20 engineers who created a concentration of sportiness and technology. For some details, they decided to collaborate with the most specialised companies in the sector, such as the choice of Pirelli tyres that created an ad hoc model, and Bosch for the main electronic control systems of the car as well as the engine. The chassis, entirely made of carbon fibre, made the car the lightest in its category with only 855Kg. The engine was a 4-cylinder 2,300 turbocharged, capable of delivering 400 hp and reaching 280 km/h. Sportiness taken to the extreme with 820 kg of downforce at maximum speed, which allowed to exceed 2G of lateral acceleration. The bodywork was designed to make the most of aerodynamics without sacrificing elegance. The testing of this car was entrusted to Loris Bicocchi. A unique and entirely hand-assembled car, which immediately became a coveted collector's item thanks also to its limited production of only 10 units per month and 600 in total. One of the first buyers was Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne.
The car we are offering for auction is a magnificent and very rare Dallara Stradale in GT configuration, with windscreen and Gull-wing doors (absolutely removable if desired) in a hyper limited edition (this is the number 8 of only 10 examples in the world). It is the "Signature Edition" that is an edition personally signed in some parts of the car by three great names of world motor racing: Engineer Giampaolo Dallara (authentic legend of world motorsport), Andrea Pontremoli (CEO of Dallara Automobili), and Loris Bicocchi (great driver and true legend who has developed and tested some of the most beautiful cars in the world). This car, besides being an extremely rare example, is equipped with all the best technology that Dallara is able to offer today: the robotised gearbox with paddles at the wheel for really lightning-fast gear changes, the performance kit by Dallara with control unit and exhaust implemented to offer an even more exciting performance and an irresistible sound. The car has only travelled 4,800 km since it left the Dallara factory in 2018 and has all its original registration documents. It has had only one owner. It is not registered in Italy but in Switzerland. The Dallara Stradale was designed to impress in performance without paying attention to anything else. The current owner of this rare and elitist model has been able to transform a car born to satisfy the most unbridled desire for speed into a GT with a racing soul but dressed in a haute couture Italian dress.
