SCETTRO IN ZITAN INTAGLIATO CON INSERTI IN CLOISONNE', CINA, DINASTIA QING, PERIODO QIANLONG (1736-1795)
The sceptre is in good condition with the exception of the head with a split, the head has been re-attached at some point to the shaft with some possibly little pieces of later wood and restored some time ago, as well as some very small pieces are missing, the cloisonné plaques with some pitting and some very minor flakes around the rim base of the plaques and re-stuck to the sceptre, the sceptre is quite dirty and would need a professional restoration.

The zitan intricately carved in an openwork and pierced to its lower section with two deer standing on rocky ledges beneath pine trees, the upper section with a crane and a bird in flight amongst rocks and pine trees. The three raised inset panels are each bordered with a delicately carved band of scrolling foliage centered around flower heads, the panels containing three cloisonné plaques each decorated with a mythical beast.
