In 2018, the department of Furniture, Sculpture and Objets d’Art obtained good results with a total of 2,971,160 euros with a percentage of items sold per lot amounting to 67.9% and in terms of value of 197.2%.
From Clemente Ferrari’s collection, a pair of large 18th century torches in sculpted, lacquered and gilded wood, sold at 56,250 euros, is worth a mention: in the same sale, six 18th century walnut chairs reached 32,500 euros.
A beautiful Male bust signed by Gaetano Monti (Ravenna 1776 – Milan 1847), and a pair of 18th century Genoese console tables in carved, sculpted and gilded wood were both sold at 25,000 euros.
A bronze Christ Crucified, made by Massimiliano Soldani Benzi’s workshpop in Florence, two sculptures in porphyry and breccia medicea marble, probably depicting Vitellius and Julius Caesar, and a Roman chest of drawers of the 18th century, veneered in various woods, were all sold at 22,500 euros.
