Sales in 2016 were further confirmation of the positive and consolidated trends enjoyed at Wannenes by the Department of Twentieth-Century Decorative Arts and Design with an increase of 10% for a total of 2,265,093 euro with 69.3% of lots sold and 149.7% of lots sold in terms of value. A pair of armchairs by Gio Ponti for Altamira from 1954, in wood and jute, reached a hammer price of 55,800 euro and a wall light (number 181) made in 1951 by Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce (designed by Marco Zanuso for the Reggiani family house in Jesi) achieved a 47,120 euro result. Further significant results were achieved by a pair of armchairs (model 865) by Ico Parisi, produced by Cassina in 1955 (43,400 euro), and a backlit mirror (model 2044) by Fontana Arte made in the 1960’s by Max Ingrand – in moulded crystal, polished brass, gem crystal and mirrored – reached a hammer price of 40,640 euro.
