First edition, probably from a Medici library, of the poem in loose endecasyllables inspired by Virgil's Georgics and Rucellai's Api dedicated to Catherine De Medici, Estienne's only work printed in Italian and entirely in large italic typeface.
4to, (205 x 140mm). Printer's device on the title page, text in cursive (slightly browned and flowered, small holes to the first two and last 3 leaves). Renaissance-style binding with gilt title to spine and boards with gilt frames (slightly boarded). Provenance: woodcut ex-libris with Medici arms on the back of the title page. (1)
