TARABOTTI, Arcangela (1604-1652). Lettere familiari, e di complimento [WITH:] Le lagrime...per la morte dell'illlustriss. signora Regina Donati. Venice: Guerigli, 1650.
Never before auctioned work (RBH) by Elena Cassandra Tarabotti, an important female voice of the 17th century, who in her works denounced the dramatic condition of forced nuns, a reality to which she herself belonged, and the condition of women in her time. The volume collects her correspondence, in which she discusses aspects of monastic life, as well as personal and cultural issues, and reveals the reasons that led her to express her ideas. The second part is dedicated to the death of her friend and fellow sister, Regina Donati.
