First edition, never sold at auction (RBH), of this dialogue between a French noblewoman, Aretefila, and two Florentine gentlemen on the subject of whether it is possible to fall in love with a person's physical beauty just by listening to their description. This lyrical work is dedicated to Francesco d'Alessandro Nasi and includes extensive quotations from ancient and contemporary poets, including Luigi Alamanni and Annibal Caro, and French poets such as Maurice Scève.
