PASSI, Giuseppe (1569-1620). I donneschi difetti. Venice: Somasco, 1599.
Famous and rare misogynist treatise, banned in 1623 for its vulgar and violent content, which in its 35 chapters lists various models of negative women, from the drunkard to the lascivious, from the excessive use of make-up to the cruel woman, from the witch to the prostitute, from the lecherous to the curious, and so on. Curiously, although it is an index publication, it belonged to the Bishop of Casale Caravadossi. Also in the lot is the fourth edition, the last before the index publication.
