BORSATI, Lucretius (16th century). La vittoria delle donne: nella quale in sei dialogi si scopre la grandezza donnesca e la bassezza virile. Venice: Deuchino, 1621.
A philosophical dialogue written by the Augustinian Lucrezio Borsati da Crema, a member of the Accademia letteraria dei Sospinti. This work is notable for its strong emphasis on the defence and glorification of the female figure, offering arguments aimed at countering the prejudicial misogynistic views of his time. Borsati's erudite and philosophical approach to questions of women's emancipation and justice is an important testimony to the literary culture and intellectual struggles that characterised the period, especially within academies such as the Sospinti, which promoted debate on social and philosophical issues.
