Scarce first edition of this oration delivered by Pompeo Baccusi, under the pseudonym 'Humile Invaghito', to the Accademia degli Invaghiti of Mantua as part of the academic debate on the nature of women. Baccusi was responding to Giovanni Francesco Pusterla, who had published a work 'in biasmo della crudeltà delle donne' in 1568.
