Interesting group of caricatures of high-ranking Italian officers dedicated to Mario Garbagni, the future president (1920) of the Dalmine steelworks 'vice-padrone della melonera who, with immutable faith in the Milanese dialect only equal to that in the lofty destinies of the Fatherland, led with calm (oh yes) but unquenchable fervour the ranks portrayed herein to, certainly not bloody, but perhaps not entirely inglorious battles, the immeasurable affectionate Alpine offers. Milan Viale Venezia 22' (trasl.) Interesting view of life in the rich rear lines during the First World War.
