ROBIDA, Albert (1848-1926). La Nef de Lutece. Paris: Dorbon, 1905.
Limited edition copy of one of Albert Robida's most original works, produced and sold for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The work served as a guide for visiting the Vieux Paris section, an area of the Expo that celebrated the historical periods of French civilisation through a succession of different architectural styles, designed and built by Robida himself near the Pont de l'Alma. Each page of the work features a text composed in characters imitating the Gothic style and one or more illustrations in black and red, testifying to the attention to aesthetic detail typical of the author.
Folio, (340 x 270mm). Specimen number XXX signed by the author and printed on vellum similar paper, coloured printed in medieval style. Editorial binding, cloth spine, leather gilt title to spine. (1)
