The work illustrates the new thermal baths at Montecatini, the chemical studies on water and the medical applications following the works ordered by Pietro Leopoldo of Habsburg

Grand ducal arms on the title page, 1 plate with a view of the baths and the town on a double page, 1 synoptic plate of the substances contained in the waters, 1 plate with a plan view of the thermal baths, and 1 large general plan of the baths with the surrounding countryside at the end of the volume, all engraved in copper and folding. Contemporary binding with leather spine, gilt titles and decorations, marbled boards. Provenance: Strozzi family stamp with the motto 'Expecto' on the title page. (1)
