This work by Roger North, 4th Baron North, lawyer, member of parliament and passionate breeder of edible fish, combines scientific and artistic expertise to provide a detailed and accurate description of various fish species.
Folio, (327 x 235mm). 17 (of 18, missing the second plate of Eleazar Albin's 'Mackarel' dated 1735) hand-coloured engraved plates of fish from drawings by the Albin family of draughtsmen (Eleazer, Elizabeth and Fortin) (occasional spotting).
