Noble fragment of an ancient Roman edition of Lactantius by Ulrich Han, who in 1471 started a collaboration with the Lucchese publisher Simon Cardella. Han is famous for having printed Torquemada's Meditationes sive Contemplationes Vitae Christi in 1467, the first book printed in Rome and the first illustrated in Italy.
Folio, (330 x 230mm). Text printed on 37 lines in Latin and Greek characters. (Missing 79 leaves of which 37 at the end including the colophon and the remaining in the text, outer margin of the first 30 leaves trimmed to probably remove old decorations). Loose gatherings. (1)
