Scarce illustrated edition with only one passage at auction in the last 30 years (RBH) of the Tusculane questiones, a philosophical work divided into five books, written in the form of a dialogue. It deals with central themes of Stoic and Epicurean philosophy, such as the nature of happiness, pain, virtue and the immortality of the soul.

Woodcut illustration of a teacher with four students on the title page, initials and several woodcut illustrations in the text (small woodworm path at the outer margin occasionally affecting a few letters of the printed marginal comments, otherwise good condition). 19th century carta rustica binding with title label on first boards.
