[BIBLIOPHILY] Catalogo secondo de libri italiani che si trovano vendibili presso Carlo Scapin al Leon D'Oro. Padua: Scapin, 1798.
Lot of 2 scarce catalogues of the Paduan bookseller Carlo Scapin, who had his shop in Piazza delle Erbe, at the Leon d'Oro, near the entrance to Via dei Fabbri. It was Scapin who acquired a large part of the valuable collection of the bibliophile Giacomo Soranzo, Senator of the Venetian Republic (1686-1761), dispersed at his death by his grandchildren. In the catalogues we find works of which the bookseller declares he possesses 'only one copy, which will be sold to the first applicant', suggesting the possible presence of remnants of Soranzo's library and other significant acquisitions.
