CAPELLA, Galeazzo Flavio (1487-1537). L'Anthropologia. Venice: Aldo Manuzio heirs; Andrea Torresano heirs 1533.
First edition of this work, one of the first to use the term Anthropologia. It is a dialogue in the vernacular that participates in the Renaissance debate on human dignity, comparing itself to the works of Erasmus, Bembo and Castiglione. The treatise reflects the cultural context of early sixteenth-century Milan and is linked to the illustrations of Bandello, Curti and Fregoso.
