Fine contemporary binding copy of this first edition of the works of the Neapolitan humanist cardinal. Tiraboschi commented on the work as follows: 'The best thing we have in this genre are eight tragedies and two comedies...They are, however, versions of ancient Greek writers, rather than things conceived and composed by him; but such is the elegance and propriety of style, that few other poems can be compared with them' (trasl.
