Uncut copy of the first folio edition of this celebratory epic in verse, composed by Strozzi, which recounts the foundation of the city of Venice and the wars against Attila. The work is divided into twenty-four cantos, each introduced by a full-page engraving. The original 1621 edition contained only the first twelve cantos.
Folio, (350 x 245 mm). Illustrated title page with a view of Venice, portrait of the author, 24 plates at the beginning of each canto, 2 portraits of Aetius and Attila engraved by Romita and Valesio, subjects within a woodcut frame, double text border and printer's device at the end, uncut (some staining to title page and colophon). 18th century style binding in mottled calf leather.
