SOROBOLI, Girolamo (16th century). Lettioni sopra la definitione d'amore, posta dal gran filosofo Platone nel libro chiamato il convito. Modena: Gadaldini, 1590.
Scarce first edition of this treatise on love, based on a commentary on Plato's Convite. The work, of Platonic inspiration with Christian elements, reflects the influence of Francesco Patrizi, professor of philosophy in Ferrara. The text was reprinted only once in Venice in 1592 in a pirate edition produced by Girolamo Polo on the initiative of Flavio Candidi.
