4to, (210 x 155mm). Richly decorated engraved title page, printer's device in the colophon depicting Fortune, 21 full-page engravings by Adamo Ghisi (Adamo di Mantova). Seventeenth century morocco binding with the title printed in gilt on the first plate within a rhomboid medal inserted within a phytomorphic gilt frame, on the second plate the dragon of the Boncompagni family and the owner's name printed in gilt 'Hieronimus Bocompagnus' (Girolamo Boncompagni 1622-1684), all within a gilt frame (restored spine). Provenance: Filippo Serlupi Crescenzi (heraldic ex libris on the endpapers); Vincenzo Modena 1936 (signature on the endpapers). (1)
