A BLANC DE CHINE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF GUANYIN AND TWO ACOLYTES, CHINA, MIDDLE 17TH CENTURY
The Goddess of Mercy seated in dhyanamudra on a high-backed rocky work throne, wearing a long flowing robe and jewelled pendants, exposing the hands and extending to a cowl with elaborate hair and tiara, all between (a vase on a rock-stand now missing) and a bird beside the two standing acolytes, Longnu, the Jade Maiden and Shancai, the Golden Youth, covered in a white-cream glaze. In very good conditions, except the missing vase on a rock-stand, some firing black spots on the surface more pronounced on the back side and some firing cracks, light surface wears and scratches.
