La Jaguar E Type non ha bisogno di introduzioni. Disegnata dall'aerodinamicista Malcom Sayer e dotata di un telaio ibrido con scocca portante e strutture tubolare, sintetizzava l'esperienza e i successi accumulati dalla Casa di Coventry nelle gare di durata degli anni 50. Introdotta al Salone di Ginevra del 1961 fu un successo senza pari, rivoluzionando completamente i canoni di bellezza automobilistici in vigore all'epoca: persino Enzo Ferrari ammise che la E Type fu la più bella auto del mondo.
Nei suoi 10 anni di produzione, la Jaguar E Type è stata prodotta in 4 serie differenti con 3 motori distinti. Fra questi, la serie "1 e mezzo" è forse la meno conosciuta, in quanto si trattò di una serie a cavallo fra la prima e la seconda: spinta dal motore 4.2 ma identica alla 2a serie, si può affermare che sia un modello a sè stante. Questa piccola famiglia di E Type nacque per l'implementazione delle normative della sicurezza ed anti-inquinamento americane nella produzione di serie: diverse fra loro a seconda del mercato di destinazione, sono auto oggi ricercate dai collezionisti per via della loro rarità. Prodotte soltanto per un anno, il 1968, sono oggetti richiesti da veri connoisseur della E Type.
Questa E Type si presenta con specifiche americane ed è stata importata dagli USA e inmatricolata per la prima volta in Italia nel 1991. è stata restaurata completamente oltre 15 anni fa, il colore è stato mantenuto come in origine e anche gli interni in pelle ripristinati a regola d'arte. Il restauro, che ha anche interessato la parte meccanica, ha voluto preservare la bellezza classica di questa Jaguar, volendone esaltare al tempo stesso il piacere di guida rigenerando totalmente il motore, che oggi viene regolarmente acceso e l'auto usata solamente per brevi tragitti. Si presenta oggi ancora in buonissime condizioni nonostante l'ultimo periodo di scarso utilizzo. La cazzozzeria presenta delle imperfezioni nella parte più bassa dei sottoporta e la capote esternamente in perfette condizioni è leggermente scollata dal telaio pieghevole, può essere facilmente ripristinata da un tappezziere competente. Desiderosa di essere curata e goduta dal suo nuovo proprietario.
The Jaguar E Type needs no introduction. Introduced at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, it was an unparalleled success, completely revolutionising the standards of automotive beauty in force at the time - even Enzo Ferrari admitted that the E Type was the most beautiful car in the world.
In its 10 years of production, the Jaguar E Type was produced in 4 different series with 3 separate engines. Of these, the '1 and a half' series is perhaps the least well known, as it bridged the gap between the first and second series: powered by the 4.2 engine but identical to the 2nd series, it can be said to be a model in its own right. This small family of E Type cars was born to implement American safety and anti-pollution regulations in series production. Different depending on the target market, they are now sought after by collectors because of their rarity. Produced for only one year, 1968, they are objects sought after by true E Type connoisseurs.
This E Type has American specifications and was imported from the USA and first registered in Italy in 1991. It was completely restored over 15 years ago, the colour retained as it was originally and the leather interior also restored to its original condition. The restoration, which also involved the mechanical part, sought to preserve the classic beauty of this Jaguar, while at the same time enhancing its driving pleasure by totally regenerating the engine, which is now regularly started and the car used only for short journeys. It presents itself today still in very good condition despite the last period of little use. The bodywork has some imperfections in the lower part of the sills and the soft top, which is in perfect condition externally, is slightly detached from the folding frame, it can be easily restored by a competent upholsterer. Longing to be cared for and enjoyed by its new owner.
