A fine copy of this work, illustrated with over 100 portraits of famous military commanders from Frederick Barbarossa to Louis XIII of France, accompanied by their respective arms; among those represented, from European kingdoms but also from the Ottoman Empire, are Christopher Columbus, Andrea Doria, Bazajet, Charles V, Cesare Borgia, Barbarossa, Frederick II, Francis I of France, Francesco Sforza, Giorgio Castrioti (Scanderbeg), Giovanni de Medici, G. Zamoyski de Zamosci of Poland, Can Grande della Scala, Tamerlane, and many others4to, (240 x 175mm). Engraved frontispiece, over 100 engraved portraits in text by Pompilio Totti and Christoph le Blanc. Contemporary full vellum binding, title gilt to spine.
