A beautifully bound copy with German noble provenance of this wonderful work on the topography of Paris and its surroundings, Picardy and Champagne and Brie. The plates represent the main cities under the reign of Louis XIV and are an important source for the history of Baroque architecture in France. The views of Paris and its monuments are particularly interesting.3 parts in one volume, folio, (307 x 200mm). Engraved title pages for the three parts, 108 (of 118) plates and maps, some of which are folding and double-page for the first part, 30 (of 30) for the second, 49 (of 54) for the third for a total of 187 plates (of 199) initials and engraved head-pieces (3 plates with severe tears without loss of text, a few plates with minor marginal tears, light occasional staining otherwise in good condition). Contemporary vellum binding with the arms of Siegmund Casimir Graf zu Lynar (1648-1686) printed in gold in the centre of the boards, red edges.
