Collection of two issues of the famous and scarce Russian magazine sponsored by the royal family that presented the works of many prominent Russian artists reproduced in lithography by Timm. The two annuals here depict episodes from the Crimean War and the death of Tsar Nicholas I.2 volumes, oblong folio, (350 x 535 mm). The 1855 issue with 36 plates (1-36); the 1856 issue with 34 plates (1; 3-4 ; 6-36) (waterstains to upper edge, more extensive for that of 1856, early repairs to a few tears). 19th century binding with leather spines (one of which chipped).
