One of the first works to be printed in Venice by Spira (the first was Cicero's Epistulae ad familiares only two years earlier in 1469) and the second edition of the complete works of St. Cyprian after the first in January 1471 published by Sweynheym and Pannartz. The collection contains: Epistulae; Ad Donatum; Ad Demetrianum; De opere et eleemosynis; Ad Fortunatum; De zelo et livore; De bono patientiae; De mortalitate; De habitu virginum; De ecclesiae unitate; De lapsis; De dominica oratione; Quod idola dii non sint; Ad Quirinum adversus Iudeos, lib. 1-2. (Pseudo-) Cyprianus: De singularitate clericorum; De montibus Sina et Sion; De revelatione capitis beati Johannis Baptistae. The latter of the spurious works included here is the fanciful account of the transfer of the head of St John the Baptist to Angers at the behest of King Pepin.Folio, (308 x 210mm). 177 of (184) leaves, 37-38 lines, Roman letter, initials rubricated in red (missing the first two index leaves [1,2], 3 text leaves [110,111,120] and the last 2 blank leaves [183-184] (1)
