First and only edition of this iconographically curious work with illustrations engraved by Sister Isabella Piccini, an independent engraver who was much appreciated by Venetian publishers including the Remondini for whom she produced illustrations for sacred texts, missals, prayer books but also portraits and popular prints of secular genres as in this case. 6 parts in one volume, folio, (330 x 233 mm). Allegorical frontispiece, title-page printed in red and black with vignette, portrait of the author, head-pieces, tail-pieces and engraved plates, half-title, frontispiece, and title-page to each of the 6 sections, at the end another plate with the title of the volume in a cartouche supported by an angel, (lacking the portrait of Elena Lucrezia Cornelia). Contemporary full leather binding, gilt title and decoration, gilt brocade endpapers, speckled edges (minor wear). (1)
