A VERY RARE 'FAMILLE ROSE' TURQUOISE-GROUND TIBETAN-FORM ALTAR PORCELAIN VASE, ¿BENBAPING¿, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, SEAL MARK SIX-CHARACTER IN IRON-RED JIAQING AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The vase is in very good condition with the exception of only very small wear on the gilt bands and very minor glaze scratches on the surface and a little flake on a blue dot.

Rising from a flaring base to a body of slightly compressed spherical shape and surmounted by a fluted domed neck and a drum-shaped top, brightly enameled is decorated with the bajixiang the Eight Buddhist Emblems alternating with stylized lotus heads issuing scrolling leaves, the base with a band of upright lappets of on a bright turquoise ground, the neck enameled to imitate a Tibetan banner, the top with floret enclosed by flower scrolls, the slightly conical mouth with alternating semispherical blue touched white dots against a pink ground, the divided sections outlined with eight gilt band, the interior and the base on a turquoise-enamel, the reserve seal six character mark in iron-red.
